On May 3, 2023, the first international conference "Traditions of the Past as the Foundation of the Future" was held, organized by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Belarus, the House of Moscow in Minsk, the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture "The State Museum" Smolensk Fortress "and the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life.

The conference is timed to the upcoming Great Victory Day and International Museum Day. Within its framework, the exhibition "Smolensk Fortress in the Funds of Libraries and Archives of the Union State" was opened.

The event ended with a round table on the basis of IA Sputnik, which was attended by representatives of Belarus, Russia and Moldova.
