We are glad to announce the opening of a new exhibition - "Ab'yadnayya hellish hand"!!

 June 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm

It presents about 100 textile items reflecting the weaving traditions of Polesie, a region that, due to its geographical position, preserved the most archaic features of Slavic culture until the beginning of the 20th century.

The exhibition presents towels, folk costumes, both of the Polissya weaving traditions proper, and samples of textiles, reflecting the penetration of ornaments, technologies, forms from neighboring regions into these lands, their interpretation and adaptation by local craftsmen.

The exposition includes items from the collection of the museum and the private collection of the master of folk art Galina Nikolaevna Bezborodko.

She worked at the Republican Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth in Minsk, where in 1974 she created the studio of folk arts and crafts “Buslyanya”. Since his student years he has been collecting traditional textiles, folk costumes of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia.
