1917 The Belarusian people have endured the conditions of an imperialist war for three years. In the hot whirlwind of fires over the devastated land, a call flashes like lightning: “Revolution! Revolution!”, stirring up public opinion and activating a new front – the journalistic front.
A battle for people's minds is unfolding on the pages of periodicals. Every headline is like a shot. With them, apologists of different ideological movements beat apologists, uniting with a pen, like a soldier with a rifle. The socio-political polemics of those difficult times are rich in bright slogans and inspiring calls. They contain a kaleidoscope of feelings: anxiety and righteous anger, curse and hope, an ode to new life and merciless noise.
For the anniversary of the October Revolution, the museum prepared a collage of quotes from newspapers published in Minsk in 1917-1919. The caustic, tailed headlines well convey the mood that reigned in the magazine in the first years of the establishment of Soviet power.
