In the text of this reaper song, both the reproducing magic of the words, and gratitude to the field for a rich harvest, are invested. The end of autumn in traditional Belarusian culture is the time of completion of agricultural troubles and summing up the results of the grievous agricultural season. The collected harvest determines the life of the family for the coming winter, and nothing so reassures the caring owner, as a cage, caused by boxes with grain, vegetables, mushrooms. I am about them - boxes, shiyans, garnish - ordinary assistants to the peasant family, the new exposition of the museum will tell.

It presents about 40 household items created by the technique of spiral weaving - one of the forms of traditional straw -fuel, which at the beginning of the twentieth century. I met throughout Belarus and was most widespread in the Vitebsk, Grodno and Brest regions.

The technological method of their implementation lies in the fact that straw tanks, starting from the Donets, are lined in a spiral and sewn with each other with flexible split rods of the vine, stripes of the bast, spruce or pine roots, threads of plant fibers. The tightly woven boxes were not inferior in strength to wooden barrels, often they were so masterfully executed that they did not let water poured in them, and at the same time provided the necessary grain and flour of ventilation.

In the traditional life, a straw box is primarily a practical utilitarian thing, but in a modern value paradigm is a product of folk art. The boxes wicker from straw have a expressive, sophisticated shape, and a small diagonal or spiral pattern of vine interweaving on the bundles revives the texture of the self -product, makes its surface beautiful. Although in an artistic way, wicker straw dishes are not as impressive as decorative and distinct objects and voluminous plastic, but the sources of craft, the basis for the development of all other types and forms, begin with it.

We invite everyone to visit the new museum exposition.

For an additional fee you can:

- acquire souvenirs from folk masters;

- Visit the "Belarusian Korkma", which is located on the territory of the museum.

Ticket cost:

• for adults - 10.50 rubles.;
• students of higher education institutions (student ID) - 5.50 rubles.;
• for schoolchildren, students of vocational and technical, secondary educational institutions-5.50 rubles;
• For preschool children – free.

The museum exposition works from 10:00 to 17:00. The ticket office works from 10:00 to 16:30.

• Please take care of clothes and shoes in accordance with weather conditions.
• The museum reserves the right to cancel or replace individual episodes of the event, depending on weather conditions.
• There is no ATM on the museum’s terminators. To reduce souvenirs, artisans must have cash money with them.
• You can purchase tickets and souvenirs at the box office by bank transfer and cash.
